Someone mentioned earlier about hoping there are no suspect calls in the games. I dont like to do this unless there is something that happens many times and is not called. See my comment above regarding the NFHS Network video feed for another reason. I would be curious to know how many other semifinals games this week had visitors on the home side bleachers. The system that is in place using POP's should have been followed here. This is not the regular season this was a semifinals game. Negaunee's fans were seated on the home side. Yes, it has turf but the fact that the seating on the visitors side of the field is so small that should have been a check for a NO site. I question Gaylord being a good place to play a semifinals game. If they convert just one then we have different outcome. RC didn't convert 1 of the 2 two point tries, that hurts. RC doesn't have a field goal kicker and that hurts. But, nobody from the RC sideline seemed to think differently so maybe it was the right call.īut hey, it is one play in the game so it wasn't what defined the game. It also looks like the Miners player is eventually out of bounds and seemed to be unclear as to when the Miners defender had possession of the ball. It appears that Hughes caught it initially when his knee is down. Yes, it is a very difficult call to make, I get that. I have seen 2 different angles of that play from news media outlets. 8 seconds later they were saying it was Miners ball. From my viewpoint it looked at first that Bryson Hughes, #23 for RC, caught the pass but then the RC sideline was in the way to see anything else.
